Supported advertising formats and servers
Ad formats
Our ad system uses the Google IMA3 SDK for video ad interaction, so all VAST versions are supported (2, 3 and 4) as well as VPAID 2.0 html5 video ads. VMAP adPods are also supported.
There are limitations to the feature support of VAST 3 and 4 and strongly recommend that you check the most up to date feature support here
You can add multiple ads in different positions to an ad schedule. You can place ads in following formats:
- preroll (before the feature starts)
- midroll (x seconds or minutes into the video, typically used with text/image overlays to not interrupt the feature playback)
- postroll (after the main feature content ended)
Depending on your ad server offerings, you’ll be able to set skippable video or overlay ads, non-skippable videos ads with a defined length, and text or image overlay ads. The SDK does not support skippable ads that are less than 8 seconds long. When ads shorter than the minimum length are played, the Skip button is not displayed.
We do not support Flash ads or html5 video ads based on Flash content.
Ad servers
Our ad offering has been tested with most major ad servers, for example:
- Google DFP / AdXchange
- FreeWheel
- SpotX
- Telaria
- Smartclip
- Videoplaza / Ooyala
